Environmental claims should be specific and evidenced, not decorative. This statement sets out what we can actually stand behind.

Our position, plainly stated

UrbanFarmly is a retailer. We curate and sell products made by third-party manufacturers and suppliers. We do not hold environmental certifications in our own name — we are not ourselves FSC®-certified, carbon-neutral certified or organically certified as a business.

Product-level claims

Where a product page states a specific environmental characteristic — a certified material, a recycled content, a particular ink or paper stock — that claim relates to that product and comes from its manufacturer or supplier. It is not a claim about our whole range and it is not a claim about UrbanFarmly as a company.

If you want the evidence behind a specific claim on a specific product, ask us at support@urbanfarmly.com. We will pass on the certification or supplier documentation we hold — and if we cannot substantiate a claim, we will remove it from the product page rather than leave it there.

Terms we avoid

We try not to use vague, unmeasurable words such as "eco-friendly", "green" or "sustainable" on their own. Where you see an environmental word on this site it should be attached to something concrete — a named certification, a stated material, a specific process. If you find one that is not, please tell us and we will correct it.

Packaging

Products are packed to survive transit, because a damaged item that has to be shipped twice is the worst outcome for everyone. Where a supplier provides recyclable or reduced packaging, we keep it. Please check local recycling rules for card, paper and plastic components.

Longevity

The most useful environmental thing we can do is sell things that last and help you keep them. Care instructions are supplied with products and summarised in Warranty & Product Quality — following them, particularly for outdoor items, meaningfully extends a product's life.

Shipping footprint

We ship internationally, and international freight carries an environmental cost we are not going to pretend away. We consolidate orders into as few parcels as practical.

Keeping this honest

This statement is reviewed alongside our product copy. If any claim anywhere on this site overstates what we can evidence, report it to support@urbanfarmly.com and we will fix it.
